Savanna's Baptism, Temple, and Chinese Food

Family! I had the absolute best week this week! 

We had Zone Conference Thursday which went so well! It was about finding people with faith that the Lord will lead us to those that are prepared and lead those that are prepared to us. It was so great.

Friday we got to go to the temple just Sister Lloyd and a member and two missionaries from the mission office. It has been almost a year since I've gone to the temple. It was so so so peaceful. I geared up most of the time. I got to do sealing for the first time. We can do them as the daughter. It was so so great. I LOVE the temple!

We had Savannah's baptism this weekend and honestly it was sooo perfect. I could not have asked for anything more. It was just so great! Cried during that. It was just so great!

I'm super super excited because my companion and I are eating at the mission presidents house tonight with him and his wife. So I'm pretty excited for that. Normally the missionaries going home get a last meal with the mission president at his home. Usually the companions don't go, but since it's just my companion going home tomorrow, I get to go with her. :) I'll probably cry then too because our mission president is going home next month and I'm going to miss him so much. But it's fine. I'm fine. :D He is making Chinese food from his Taiwan mission he served when he was 19. I'm so excited. More to eat with just him and his wife than for the food. Although I am pretty stoked for the food too. :)
I'm going into a trio tomorrow because my companion is going home a week early. So that's a little stressful, but it will all be good. We just have a baptism on June 3rd and I kind of feel like I'm soloing it. Because we are covering 4 wards this next week with a missionary who is going home and another missionary who are both in the other two wards. And then I get a new companion 5 days before the baptism. I kind of freaked out about it yesterday. Just a lot of weight and a lot of pressure. It's ok. I've enlisted the help of both my bishops. I'll be fine. And everything will be good. Lol

Happy Mother's Day

Hey family! I am doing so wonderful here in Rocklin. This is the last week before my companion goes home and I have every ounce of intent to go all out this week between the many departing activities that go on this week.

I got to talk to my mama! ☺️ Yay! Happy Mother's Day! We had so much fun skyping! I saw all my family! My favorite part was watching my two oldest nieces, ages 3 and 4, sing their favorite primary songs. It was sooo cuuuute! ☺️
Miracles! It is so much fun being in this area. I love it so much. The youth here are amazing and I love helping them find missionary opportunities, and I also love that I always get to be a part of all of their faith filled missionary finds. It is such a blessing.
We are still teaching Savannah who has already done 4years of seminary and is going to BYUI. She is getting baptized this Saturday. I LOVE her!
The Mondell family is moving into 5th Ward which is honestly such a blessing! Not that they are moving out of our Ward. I'm sad about that. But we've known they were moving somewhere anyway. We will miss them, but of all wards, this is one of the next best. The reason is that they will get connected with the YSA sisters! It'll be great! :) The Mondells are going to LOVE Sister Thomas! Brother Mondell still very much wants to continue meeting with the missionaries.
Ok. Miracle! Joe is a new 16 year old investigator. We briefly came in contact with him at youth conference. We were asked to attend part of it since there were so many nonmembers. Like I said - the youth are amazing. He is one of the most sincere, respectful kids I know. Anyway we got a text from our bishop asking us to call the Ellis family who is Joe's neighbor. Long story short- Joe was asking the Ellis family about baptism and when he should serve a mission. Like what!? I was so so so excited so we met him the next day and set up another time to meet. We've had a couple lessons with him now and he wants to get baptized as soon as possible. I'm so excited! 🙌🏼

Hello friends! And Family! What a wonderful week it has been! At least here in California! 😉 🏖 seriously though! It's been sooo nice! I'm just soakin' it up before it turns into a major heat wave all summer long. Plus the mosquitos are starting to come out again. Too bad there're no firelflies out here. That would be something fun to look forward. It feels about time for them to come out. Maybe not quite yet, but soon. One night, Sister Lloyd and I just went outside and laid on the grass (because no chigars in California... weird!) and watched the stars for a couple minutes. Ah! Summertime is nearing and I am soo excited! I just may have to be reminded that when the heat fully comes in. I've already got a pretty good missionary tan goin'... 😂 it's fine. That's why I'm coming home in the middle of the winter. So no weird tan lines... haha I hope everyone else is as excited for summer as I am!

Monday night after p-day, we were invited to this small, exclusive event with this historian that collects and buys old books. Mostly old scriptures. It was sooo cool! He had a first edition King James Bible. It was huge! He had little thumb bibles. One that was Joseph Smith's own bible. He had so many prophet's scriptures. He had sooo many things. I can't remember it all anymore, but it was way cool. I learned a lot. And love the stories of our prophets. It's great. History is pretty fun sometimes! :) each artifact told its own little story.
This week was so great! We did a lot of behind the scene cleaning of the area Book and dividing it. We have a goal to see 90% of the potential investigators in our area Book and 50% of the formers who haven't been contacted within the last 6 months. It'll be a hard sweat fun!
We got to go see a girl who had talked to a member with a bunch of questions beforehand and then the member asked if she would like to meet with us and here we are! Just doing our job! 😉 haha it was amazing. The girl was sooo cute! She was totally cool with learning. I'm sad we don't get to continue to teach her, but happy for her as we are going to have the Young Single Adult sisters teach her after next week.
In one of our lessons with a recent convert we were studying a talk called Return and Receive from the last general Conference. It is sooo good. I've just been reading it so carefully trying to apply it to my goal setting. Y'all should read it! I've found so much fun in setting goals and achieving them.
We had another great lesson with Brother Mondell. He is so awesome! I love teaching their family. I try so hard to have the spirit with me so that one of these times, the spirit will touch his heart in a way that he can recognize the answers he is seeking. He is towards the end of 3 Nephi now.
I wanted to share a quote from my Tuesday studies, but decided it was a little too long and I'll share my testimony instead. :D I know the scriptures to be the word of God - translated by the power of God. Every. Single. Testament. From the Old Testament to the New Testament and especially to the newest Testament - the Book of Mormon. All testaments of Jesus Christ - His divinity, love, nature, mission, life, teachings, death, resurrection, healing power, and more. All of this testified most powerfully through the scriptures. I am so grateful that God has granted us scripture to help guide us in our lives. I am also very grateful that we have the spirit to confirm these things so that we can come to know them for ourselves.
